Looking into Biometry and Statistics major at Cornell.

Currently a sophomore (37 credits completed), looking to transfer as a junior for Fall 2013.

I am strong in mathematics and have a passion for the subject.

By the end of this year, my completed courses will include Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Algebra, Computer Science I, Introductory Statistics, and an independent study regarding the history of mathematics.

I have joined two mathematics societies/associations outside of school.
I plan on starting a math club at my current school.
Also planning on an internship this winter to get professional experience.

Completed Calculus II with a B at Columbia University this summer.

Current GPA: 3.34 ... Planning to raise this to at least 3.5 by the end of this fall.
SAT: 1640

No problem getting strong recommendations from professors.
My uncle is a Cornell alumni.
My older brother currently attends Cornell as a senior.

If it makes any difference, I am a life-long NY state resident.

• What are my chances of acceptance?
• Is it true that Biometry and Statistics is small in the amount of students?
