Chances for CALS

Cornell is my dream school. I'm not a 4.0 student and I definitely didn't score a 2400 on the SAT, but I feel that I have something to offer the school. Anybody care to give me an idea of what my chances are? I'd really appreciate it.

Work Experience:

Worked at a small local nursery from freshman year till this spring. Started out as single employee, eventually held a great leadership position as the company grew. Physically built most of what is there today.

I'm hoping to get into CALS, i'm interesting in Biology or Bioengineering. I think that my background in the nursery business may help me alot.

CALS is one of the non-ivy parts of Cornell, right? I heard an admissions officer from Penn who says that Cornell is unique in that it has ivy and non-ivy parts. So which parts are ivy and which ones are non-ivy? CALS is not, right?

Not true. CALS is part of Cornell U IVY

as for chances SAT’s seem a little low. Any plans to retake? Also any SAT II’s

Cornell does not use SAT 1 writing score for admission evaluation.

I’ve already taken the SAT twice now. That’s too bad they don’t look at the writing score. I know a guy who got in on a lower CR score than me and his math score was only a few points higher. I’m hoping that I’ll do good enough on the Math Subject test to override that darn 620. I’m taking the U.S. History, Literature, and Math I test this Saturday.

1280 SAT is too low. You should only send ACT score

“I heard an admissions officer from Penn who says that Cornell is unique in that it has ivy and non-ivy parts. So which parts are ivy and which ones are non-ivy? CALS is not, right?”

this Penn officer shouldn’t be in this business…

how do the extracurriculars look?
