Your GPA is a rather low. Your ACT is good and is at around 75% for UIUC and UMich engineering. The average GPA for admitting these CoE are around 3.9. So you should be a high match for these two. Note that you are oos and the acceptance rate for oos is even lower for these 2 schools. It is good that you have already a safety.

One another thing- I recalculated my GPA the Georgia Tech way, and that turned out to be 3.87. I believe that is in the middle of the range- can any GA tech people give me some feedback there?

Though your GPA is a tad low than average I put “match” because of your high ACT.

Carnegie Mellon - match
Univ. Michigan Ann Arbor - match
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign - safety
University of Maryland College Park - match

Just another thing, I am really open to suggestions! If anyone has some suggestions to some other good engineering programs that I may not be aware of, I am open to hear them. A plus for me is an existent jewish community- a hillel on campus is usually indicative of that.

I suppose it would be difficult considering grade deflation, so if anyone wants to know, here are my HS grades:

If you are wondering why the weighted might be different than the one I posted earlier, its because my high school includes “High school classes” taken in middle school like language, math, eighth grade english. I suppose since colleges don’t include that most of the time, a more accurate weighted would be 4.5, right? (unless a college recalculates it).

Also do college see first quarter senior grades?
