Hooks: I have meet with the Dean of Engineering at CMU as well as the Dean of Undergrad Studies at CMU on multiple occasions and have had some lengthy interviews (in-person and over the phone)/Question and Answer sessions. My mom went to Vandy, and I am an in-stater for JHU. I have an uncle who went to UPenn and also an extensive history at CMU (great-uncle went there and later served as President of the Exec board and was in charge of renovating a lot of the buildings. However, I was told by an admissions officer during a campus tour interview that a great-uncle is too distant). I have demonstrated interest in all schools via tours and interviews. Also, I am an enrolled member (have ID number) of a Cherokee Indian tribe; however, I am predominantly white but have Native American relatives (hence my enrollment). This is useful for Dartmouth because their charter set them the goal of educating Native Americans and they have special programs for this (my brother was recruited for this reason, but did not attend).
Thank you so much! Be honest, and good luck with your admissions!!!
