Chances for CAS?

<p>SATs: 2300, M790, CR750, W760.
SAT IIs: 740 US Hist, 800 Math I, took Span w/L but no scores yet.
ACT: 34 overall (36 science, 35 math, 32 english, 34 reading, 10/12 writing)
APs: All 5's on Bio, Chem, US Hist, Euro Hist
GPA: 4.573 W (val has 4.8ish maybe?), maybe 3.75 UW. #12/561 (top 2%)
school: public in Fairfield County, CT...sends 5-10 kids to ivies each year</p>

<p>EC's: Student Council for 3 years, VP 11th, Pres 12th
Field Hockey for 4 years, Captain 12th
Futures Olympic Development FH Program for 3 years
Dance for 4 years
Peer Mediator for 3 years</p>

<p>and an assortment of school councils, conferences, etc.
lots of assorted community service, esp. in Special Olympics</p>

<p>essays: pretty good. talked about going door to door campaigning for Obama during the NH primary.</p>

<p>recs: excellent.</p>

<p>some job experience working in a chemistry lab.</p>

<p>I think you have about a 60% shot of acceptance RD… and probably much better if you had applied ED. </p>

<p>Thanks hopeful_underdog! Yeah unfortunately I didn’t visit Penn until last week but if I had visited earlier I probably would have applied ED ):</p>

<p>That’s alright! I really do think you still have a very good shot. The only thing that worries me is that 5-10 kids go to ivies and you are ranked 12th… but your application in general is very solid and very impressive. If you essay truly was powerful/enticing than I think you’ll get in because you certainly have the stats.</p>
