Chances for ChemE Grad School

Hi everyone! I was wondering what my chances are for getting into a PhD program in chemical engineering with a biochemical engineering focus. I have some strong points and weak points, so I was wondering what everyone thinks. What schools should I use for safeties? Should I be looking for a job instead?

Undergrad Major: Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry double major at well known engineering school
GPA: 3.66
GRE: Q750, V520, AW5.0
Work experience: Interned two summers at the second largest biomedical company in the country.
Research: Worked last summer at Harvard Medical School doing research. Currently doing research at my college in the biochemistry lab. I will be lead author on a paper that I'm currently working on right now.

I think your work and research experience are major pluses, and so is your forthcoming publication. Your GRE is decent, probably a tad below average on the quant and verbal. The fact that you double majored and probably took a heavy course load likely puts your GPA in context such that it would be considered good. All in all, I think you have a chance of getting into a top 10 school. For a safety school I would think you can go for something ranked around the 10-20s. You can always be on the lookout for jobs as a back-up, no?
