Chances for Clemson

Curious on Son's chances:

Out of state student
Top 10 school in state academically
Caucasian

4.2/5.0 unweighted
No AP or H's
ACT 31 first attempt

Varsity basketball
Varsity baseball
Limited volunteer work
Summer 20hrs work per week

Dose of reality here? I've been emphasizing a need to uptick the gpa...

Are you sure that’s the unweighted and not weighted GPA? It’s just most schools have 5.0 weighted GPA’s, and I’ve never heard of an unweighted on a 5.0 scale. But if it’s UW, that translates to a 3.33 UW GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

Also, has he been recruited by Clemson for his athletics? (I’d doubt it, considering you’re OOS, but, hey…)

Final verdict as of now, I’d say his 31 and sports give him a pretty good shot, a 75% if you want a number. Not quite bad, but, of course, he would be better with a higher GPA and Honors classes.

His ACT is great although his GPA is a little low. I’d say he has a great shot of getting in especially since hes involved in sports. I wish him the best of luck! He might even get a scholarship based on his ACT. I recieved a scholarship of 40K with a 2010 SAT and they basically only looks at that when awarding scholarships
