Hello all,

Just wondering what my son’s chances at Clemson would be with these credentials:

4 English (4 Honors)
4 Spanish (1 AP - 3 honors)
Physical Education - 4 years
Oral Communications (elective)
Foundations of Technology (elective)

AP Classes were/will be:

AP (all As or better):

Physics I
Physics C
US History
Biology

AP - (will take Senior Year)

Enironmental Science

GPA 4.14 on a 4.33 scale Unweighted
GPA 7.12 on a 7.83 scale Weighted - (i know this means nothing)

SAT 1360 - took again this Saturday and will take again June 3.

Does Clemson have their own GPA calculations like other universities where they give you .5 for honors and 1.0 for AP? If so, he is at 4.647.

Class Council

Prospective Major: Engineering

He is out of state: Pennsylvania

High School stopped doing class rank but was 15 out of 300 as the time they stopped. Top 5%.

Not in band, choir, etc but is in a couple academic teams (Envirothon, Physics Olympics)

Thank you for looking.

The SAT score is above average for Clemson. The GPA looks acceptable. I’m not exactly qualified to answer but I’d say he has a really good chance. Extra curriculars could come into play though; I’d tell him to try and bulk up.

GPA, class rank, course rigor and scores are all solid. Clemson wants to see all of those strong. Clemson tells you that they really don’t look a lot at EC’s. It has gotten very competitive over the years. It all depends on his strength against the other candidates in the major he chooses.I suggest calling admissions and asking about his intended majors and how he stacks up or do they see anything lacking. They are really helpful.

This is a great app but unfortunately, many with stats like this are being sent to the bridge program. Good Luck.

Update - just received May’s SAT score = 1430.

Update - Received his June SAT scores - Superscore is now 1440

Wow. I bet it’s a yes.
