Chances for colleges in MD

<p>Just wondering if i'd qualify for the following colleges:</p>

<p>UMBC, UMCP, Towson, Salisbury, Goucher, maybe Viriginia Tech, and eventually a study abroad program :b</p>

<p>Also this is kind of embarassing to post after seeing posts about people being depressed over a 2100 SAT score and 4.2 GPA. all of you need to chillax :b</p>

<p>3.67 weighted gpa</p>

<p>SAT superscore: 1830 (taking it again in october..will actually prepare thoroughly this time)</p>

<p>advanced classes taken freshman year:</p>

<p>-honors english
-honors us history
-honors matter and energy
-spanish 3 </p>

<p>advanced classes taken soph year:
-honors english
-honors nsl
-honors bio
-spanish 4</p>

<p>advanced classes taken junior year:
-AP Psych
-AP World Histry
-AP Lang
-photography II</p>

<p>(havent gotten test scores back yet)</p>

<p>advanced classes that i'll be taking next year:
-AP Lit
-AP studio art (photography)
-AP environmental science
-AP human geography
-honors calc </p>

<p>-took spanish for 4 years
-fluent in russian</p>

<p>-took Piano (6 years)
-Guitar (3 years)
-Member of Arts Academy Signature Program
-Photography (5 years)
-President of Photography club (hopefully, next year)
-VP of school Sierra Fundraising club (if approved)
-Member of Young Judaea (jewish organization focused on social action)
-spoke at a panel at the University of Maryland</p>

<p>Summer ECs:</p>

<p>-went to Jewish leadership camp for 2 years
-campained for LGBT rights last summer on capitol hill, talking to advocacy organizations and members of congress</p>

<p>Honors/Awards:</p>

<p>-had article published on website of organization
-had photograph displayed at the strathmore mansion in the congressional arts show
-won first place for my photograph in the Nora Arts Show</p>

<p>Recs:</p>

<p>getting one from AP Lang teacher and AP World History teacher</p>

<p>other info:</p>

<p>I'm interested in communications and media studies (advertising), and marketing</p>

<p>I will assume that you are instate to all of these. I think you have a great chance of getting into all of these schools with UMDCP being a low reach bur definitely do able especially if you raise you SAT in the fall. Also remember to apply by the priority deadline for UMDCP because it’s super important I think at the meeting they said 90% of the acceptances come from priority applicants it’s much harder to get in RD. Priority is basically I non restrictive Early Action.</p>

<p>I would say all should be matches except UMD and VT, although I don’t know much about VT. For UMD, I’d say it is a reach for you, guessing by # of honors and weighted GPA, your UW is 3.1-3.3.</p>

<p>Do note that UMD emphasizes good GPA and test scores, and yours is on the low side.</p>

don’t they sometimes pick people that are below their average though?</p>
