Amherst College
Boston University
Brown University
Claremont McKenna
Pomona College
Dartmouth College
Hamilton College
Macalester College
Oberlin College
Vanderbilt University (Legacy)
Vassar College
Wesleyan University

Thank you for your time! I appreciate any feedback you can offer including any ways you think I could improve my transcript.

PS: If anyone can offer feedback on the Neuroscience programs offered at any of these schools, that would be amazing. Thanks again!

Wow you're in everywhere. Decent test scores, excellent grades, honors/AP courses, tons of volunteering, and Native American to boot. Check out some more reach schools, girl.

Thanks for your reply :D I'd put more reach schools in, but I don't want to be left in the dust when next May rolls around ^^ I really just want to get into Amherst, but I thought it might be a good idea to see what other schools have to offer.

I'm a rising senior also looking to major in neuroscience. From what I've seen, Dartmouth is pretty strong in that field. Oberlin and Amherst are good too (they're more into cellular neuroscience it seems, not really cognitive neuroscience like I am). Brown's very good too.

Colgate University seems to be pretty strong in neuroscience too. My biology teacher also suggested MIT for neuroscience.

Washington University in St. Louis is very, very good for neuroscience. They have tons of research opportunities there, and a program where you take 2 in depth cognitive neuroscience classes in sequence freshman year, then you begin a year long research project sophomore year.

I've heard neuroscience has become a very popular major at Pomona, so much so that their's a huge crunch there. I read an article that said that there aren't enough faculty advisors for all the majors, and that it's getting very tough to get into neuro classes there.

That's just what I've come across so far in my college searches. PM me if you have any more questions.

This'll really help me out in my decision making process! I really appreciate this :D

Luni, Your profile would make you a person of interest to all of the colleges on your list.

Since you seem to have every other school with similar ambience I'd sugget that you might as well add Williams. They have an excellent neuro-science program, extensive internship opportunities and a strong track record for medical school admissions.

<a href="http://www.williams.edu/Neuroscience/program.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.williams.edu/Neuroscience/program.htm</a></p>

Music is also a valuable extracurricular as they have a well developed focus on the arts as well as sciences.

I just looked them up and they seem like a perfect fit! Thanks for suggesting it, I'll certainly look into it some more. Thanks a million for responding!

great list- you have a shot everywhere (my roommate is part mexican, part native american, and part white, and she said it helped her tremendously back in the day!). be careful though, because they are all extremely tough to get into, and BU can be pretty random. make sure you apply to an absolutely sure safety school! good luck!

Thank you ^^

harvard for sure.

I think the fact that you are Native American/Mexican will really help you. But apart from that, for schools like Dartmouth and Brown, I don't think your stats or ECs will be viewed as spectacular. Your community service is incredible though. I still think you'll get in most everywhere. Good luck.

she would obviously get into BU, dont say its random haha...otherwise, youre probably in everywhere or almost everywhere. definitely add MIT to your list

haha yes BU is your safety I'm guessing...it's in the bag.

Thanks everyone for all of your replies :D

Neuroscience is excellent at Oberlin:
<a href="http://www.oberlin.edu/nsci/%5B/url%5D">http://www.oberlin.edu/nsci/</a>
Sounds as though it would be an excellent fit for you, especially given your interest in music. Good luck!

Great list and good luck, you'll get into most of these so don't worry! Go Dartmouth and Brown!
