do i have a chance so far.. and say i get about a 1990-2100 on the sat do you think i have chances. thanks again =]

610 BioE, is not very impressive, when you apply for the top colleges in America. Try to find some other SAT II subjects you are better at, hisory or math, perchance.

610 is weak. Might be good for your school, but weak for most colleges. Aim for 780 or more. Personally I think anything under 800 is not good.

Being black and poor will definately help. Being just black won't help a lot. Hmmm, unless your unweighted is 3.8 or more, you will have a good deal of trouble getting into those universities.

i'm guessing you are black? if so, i still give you very little chance at columbia based on the 610 SAT II. bio is really not the hardest SAT II, so i can't see your SAT I being over 2000. with your ECs, even for URMs you'll need a 2200+ for columbia

Medals for average? From whom? What average?

And like everybody said, 610 isn't something to be proud of. I took Chemistry SATII with the half the test never covered in my class and I still got 690, which isn't anything special either.

Honestly, since your scores aren't that good (if your projected SATI is correct) and your ECs are nothing spectacular, Columbia will be a miracle to get into. NYU... eh, maybe.

ok so i will probally end up retaking bio .. maybe senior year when i take ap bio. I am black and puerto rican .. low income lol and my average on my report card was a 97.8 i believe.

for sat II bio .. i was in regents and prepared mostly on my own . took it sophomore year .. and took it at the last minute

Well then, it will all come down to how much you can improve the next year and how much your financial status and ethnicity will help. GPA is good enough it seems.

But looking at what you have so far and assuming you were white and middle class, you would have very little chance.
