What are my chances at Columbia (possible ED), Brown, Princeton, Tufts, UVA, and Williams?

Columbia and Princeton are mid-high reaches, but you should be fine for the others. Have a strong essay and continue getting those grades as well as excelling in your ECs and you should be a strong candidate for all of your top choices. Good luck!!

Columbia, Brown and Princeton are reaches but other schools you have a good chance. Focus on essays, ECs (so far you seem do be doing well) and get a nice SAT score.

djz750: I did badly because of Critical Reading, my other scores were fine, but my CR Score was very low and not indicative of my real strength in the subject. Most people do not score very highly on the sophomore PSAT, the junior PSAT, however, is another story.

UVA and Tufts are matches. The rest are reaches. I don’t see anything that strongly sticks out in your extracurriculars, just the same old normal stuff. Try to set your self apart somehow from the all the other applicants when applying to Ivies or else you don’t really have a strong chance. You’ll just be in the group of thousands who are “smart” yet get rejected. Good luck!

Yes, an internship might help, especially if you do something big with it. If you make your science club “stand out from the rest of the clubs,” that would look very good. I would have to agree with WongTongTong.

ECs are pretty weak and PSAT isn’t a good indication for your academic strength. Does your prep school normally send students to top ivies/have any good connection. If you went to a public school, I would say all the top schools on your list are far reaches.

1.) Now I am scoring a 2200 on sat practice tests.
2.) in what ways are my EC’s weak?
3.) we have about 4 kids go to ivies each year out of classes of 50-70
4.) all of my schools are far reaches? Simply because of my ECs and my PSAT which is now greatly improved?
