Any insights/advice?

anyone? (I will chance back)

Your GPA and your AP scores will certainly hurt, but those are some of the strongest ECs I’ve ever seen, I was personally surprised by your essay topic, and I’m sure that will make a huge difference. I’d say you have an excellent shot.

thanks for your input. I didn’t think they particularly cared about AP exams?

I also got 2 more subject test scores today… not entirely happy with them - 720 Literature and 730 US History. They certainly aren’t bad, but I feel like they aren’t really helping me in any way (then again, how much would a significantly higher score done?)

Actually, your AP exams will not be used against you. More importantly, your overall performance is awesome - extremely high chance, especially with academics like that. Chance Back Please!

Your chances are amazing! I’d say Columbia is a match and your chances are very good. Congrats on that SAT score.

Please chance me back

scienceman - where’s your thread?

Even though Columbia is a “reach-for-anyone” school, I think it will be less than a complete reach for you. Your GPA and standardized scores are good enough, and your essay sounds great! Wouldn’t call Columbia a match school, but you have relatively great chances. ,ay be a high match/reach? Chance back?

bump…

wow you definitely have a great shot at Columbia. Great objectives except for number of APs and the results. But still impressive ECs and very appealing commonapp essay topic which very smoothly connects to your major/interest. I don’t think AP courses and scores would pull you back since it’s a minor part and score of 4 is still acceptable. I’m pretty sure your other objectives, ECs, and intriguing essay will do more than making up for APs. Best of luck! I’m also applying to Columbia ED as an Asian international!

Oh yeah fellow NJ’er here! You’ve got a good a chance as anybody…good luck! I can’t really find any weaknesses in your app, other than your GPA, which is still very strong. If you have an upward trend, which you seem to imply, then you’ll be fine.

No guarantees, but I like your chances :)

I would say you have a pretty good chance. You have really strong ECs and solid academic credentials. Chance me back for Columbia ED

I feel like none of our opinions matter.
