Chances for Columbia, Georgetown, Tufts, etc...

Looking for chances for Columbia, Georgetown SFS, Tufts, UChicago, UCSD, Pepperdine, and BU. I'm a junior in high school currently, obviously my first choice is Columbia, so if anybody went to Columbia/knows my chances would be really appreciated.

GPA: 3.6/4.0 (had a rough freshman/sophomore year, really good junior year so far... hoping that my senior year will be good so it could be a 3.7 GPA)
SAT I: 2170 (I know, I know.... not where I want it to be either)
SAT II: Planning on US History, World History, French w/ Listening (hoping for 700+ scores)
APs: Comparative Gov (5); Junior Year APs - US History, Language, Statistics, US Gov; Senior Year AP - Human Demographics, Calculus AB, Literature, French, Macro/Micro
Other classes: Mostly honors... Took all honors except one year math was non-honors, two years science non-honors

COLLEGE MAJOR: International relations / French double major, maybe minor in Arabic (love languages :) )

ESSAYS/RECOMMENDATIONS:
Hopefully will be good... Started on a couple essays already :)
Recommendations will probably be good, I have a couple teachers lined up and maybe even my school principal who knows me well, and my swimming coach (known me since I was seven).

EXTRACURRICULARS:
- competitive swimmer outside of school (made national championships, may get recruited -- but I want my profile to be looked at as a non-recruited athlete, you never know); varsity high school swimmer 4 years, highly decorated, top finishes in conference meet -- hopefully captain my senior year :)
- SADD; French club, NHS, bunch of school clubs... No leadership positions but running for a couple next year, hopefully will be getting a leadership pos in one club atleast.
- Swim Teacher Summer Job
- Beach lifeguard summer job
- starting my own line of swimsuits , clothing company with a couple good friends
- Hopefully will be published soon... Fingers crossed!
- Summer internship this year with a popular online blog/writing site or with my uncle's company... Not finalized yet but definitely will have an internship.

VOLUNTEER:
- Special Olympics coach for swim team -- one hour once a week pretty much all year long, some weekends of swim meets I work around 10 hour days
- Volunteered abroad twice , planning on doing a considerable project with one of the volunteer groups I worked with on peoples rights in one of the countries I volunteered in

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
- my father died a few years back, I was suicidal and had serious depression for a couple years (hurt my freshman & sophomore year grades)
- I have a rare heart condition that could lead to sudden death without warning -- had to deal with the possibility of death etc (found it in 8th grade/early freshman year -- contributed to low GPA in freshman year)
- daughter of a widow

It would be great if any of you could chance me for my schools... And PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think I should do to make my chances better. Thank you guys so much and I'll do my best to chance you guys back based on what I know of some schools. :)

Also I’m fluent in Mandarin, speak good Cantonese dialect as well :)

That swimsuit thing is pretty cool. Good luck. :)

Columbia- reach (only because of GPA and SAT score)
Georgetown- high match
Tufts- match
UChicago- reach (same as Columbia)
UCSD- safety
BU- match
Pepperdine- match
I also lost my father, so I understand your situation and I think that if you let that experience positively influence your essays, then you could use that situation to your advantage. The top schools want people who have come from all walks of life so make sure that your essays stand out from the rest. I am also applying to Georgetown SFS and have a passion for languages, so that’s pretty awesome haha. If you bring up that SAT score then I think that those reaches can definitely become possibilities for you. Good luck! :)

Thanks guys! That helped :)

Academically, you look like a match at UCSD, Pepperdine, and BU. Georgetown and Tufts are high matches
Columbia and UChicago are reaches.

However, your circumstances and extracurriculars are extraordinary. You have a high chance at any of these schools.
