chance me back

your SAT scores are fantastic and good enough for every college, but maybe improve the math for a better shot at MIT. if anything, you can say that your intended major is something like literature, and then switch as soon as you get there. :stuck_out_tongue: anyways, your grades are also excellent and so is your NHD project, and your dedication to competitions, and your founding of the engineering club. There isn’t anything especially especially special, but most don’t have anything super exceptional, so you’re not doing too badly. Here’s my judgment:
MIT: Mid Reach
Columbia: Mid Reach (low reach if you apply ED, which I might do myself)
Same as columbia for penn
Cornell: low-mid reach (ED: high match to low reach)
Carnegie Mellon: High match

Thank you very much! It’s much appreciated. I do not know if the ED for Columbia is still open, sadly.

Columbia-low reach
MIT-reach
U Penn-low reach
Carnegie-Mellon-high match
Cornell-high match/low reach

I may be somewhat optimistic, but you look like a strong candidate

Buh-buh-bumpity-bump-bump.

Looks very strong, especially if your essays are excellent. These are largely ivies or such so it’s still tough.

 • Columbia-Reach
 • MIT-Reach
 • U Penn-Low reach
 • Carnegie-Mellon- match
 • Cornell- match/high match

Columbia - Reach

MIT - Reach

U Penn - Low Reach/High match

Carnegie-Mellon - Mid Match

Cornell - Mid Match

I don’t think I’m overrating. You have a good change at all of them

Equal chances at Columbia/MIT/Penn
Carnegie Mellon and Cornell shouldn’t be a problem

Thank you very much! I would have thought MIT would be slightly harder than Columbia and Penn, but that seems to not be the case.

^no, but MIT does look for more science/math ECs and tends to focus on academics/scores more than the ivies
