Chances for community college transfer student?

I have a year left until I complete my AS in Accounting at a local community college. By the time I graduate I am probably gonna get a 3.5 cum. GPA and I already have my eyes on a few local schools. My question is how competitive is Baruch for Accounting as a transfer student as well as University of Alabama? My only real ECs are as treasurer of economics club and secretary of the business club here. Relevant courses are an A in fin accounting and managerial, B in macro and B+ in micro if that matters.

Hopefully, SEA_Tide will weigh in as he knows a lot about B-school admissions.

I won’t be attending UA next year, but I had the same GPA as you at a community college with an AS in accounting and I was accepted into UA within a week of them getting my transcripts so you should be fine, they were also extremely generous with transfer credits. As for Baruch I had a professor who also thought there and said it is relatively easy to get into the school, good luck with everything.

Oh and I forgot to add, I was accepted into the Honors Program at Alabama as well.

You should be accepted into UA as an accounting major with a 3.5 GPA from your previous school and would also qualify for UA’s honors college. Check UA’s https://ssb.ua.edu/pls/PROD/rtstreq.P_Searchtype</a> to see how your courses will transfer to UA. Note that if there is a lower division course required by UA that you don’t already have to transfer over, consider taking a CLEP exam for that course.
Oh man thanks a lot for that! I didn’t think there would be such a site for equivalencies like that.
