<p>Hey guys, I was considering applying here. What do you think my chances are?</p>

<p>I am a hispanic male from New York.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.4 unweighted.
-My highschool is one of the most vigorous in the nation, in the top 100 for most prestigious public and private high schools (I go to a public school). So grade inflation is completely non existent. Our valedictorian (out of 1500 students) has a 3.9 My school doesn't rank students, but I would guess top 25% if I had to.</p>

<p>SAT: 2050 - 650 R - 800 M - 600 W</p>

<p>ACT: 31 Composite</p>

<p>I have taken 4 APs during my high school career:
AP Comp Sci AB
AP European History
AP American History
AP Biology</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars:
-National Hispanic Scholar Award (Honorable Mention)
-Assistant teacher in my school's intro to computer science class. I am currently the only student in my school (and district) to be doing a teaching role like this.
-Varsity Football
-Various overseas voulenteer works. ~100 hours </p>

<p>I also have very strong recommendations, especially from my computer science teacher. Who recieved two masters from Carnegie Mellon. He basically feels i am one of the most ambitious students he has ever come accross (at least in the field of computer science)</p>

<p>Well, if you’re gonna try to major in CompSci, that would mean applying to Engineering, and that’s pretty tough to get into. Your stats seem lower than the average applicants’ stats, but ECs and rec. letters seem to be really good, so that might help you get in. I would say reach, so go ahead and apply as soon as possible. It sucks that you missed the Early Decision deadline because you would’ve had better chances. But definitely apply, and plus you’re Hispanic, so that help you too. Good luck man!</p>

<p>With your letter of rec from your CS teacher, going to a tough high school, and being Hispanic, I’d say a match despite your low GPA, but you missed the early deadline :(. Slight reach.</p>
