<p>he's below both the USC average SAT and GPA. he should raise his SAT by at least another 150 points (out of 2400) or so considering his GPA is "only" a 3.5. does he go to a good private HS or anything? because then a 3.5 might not look as bad.</p>
<p>The writing score can definitely be higher, as I see the essay subscore was 11. And I can't speak from personal experience, but it seems like he can score higher on both SAT II Bio and Spanish, especially Spanish, because I know the AP Spanish test is hard, and if he passed it with a 3, it doesn't make sense that he got such a low score on the SAT II, unless he took it before he took the AP class and exam (I don't know why one would do that, but...).</p>
