University of Miami(FL)

ALso, if anyone has any suggestions for a good school choice. I only want to go the the states of the colleges listed. I like liberal laid back schools and plan on going to medical school after. Financial aid is not necessary but any info is appreciated, as well as any merit based aid.

Thanks for all everyones help

Im white catholic from miami,FL and i go to a prestigous small private school

1 question? Why don't you have a writing score?

i dont remember it off hand.. it was nothing special. i think around 600. i dont konw

I also failed to mention that i started a club to be open in my senior year that will raise money to donate computers and electronics to needy kids and adults here in miami, or mainly, in 3rd world country. im the founder/president and was going to donate the 5000 i made from my xbox business to it. Would this help my cahces at all?

This would also possibly be my new essay topic

Your ECs are actually pretty good.

What I'm worried about are your scores (obviously), GPA, and your essay.

DO NOT write that essay if it's going to be 3 paragraphs about your mother's struggle and one about how you now have a little brother. It should be the reverse. Writing about someone else is always dangerous because in the end the college may want to admit your mother over you.

Unfortunately, Stanford is pretty much impossible. Your chances at CMU depend on whether you're applying for engineering or for CAS. Georgetown and Tufts are high matches to low reaches.

BU, GW, UMiami, Brandeis, and Lehigh are good matches/safeties.

USC and BC are more high matches.

Good luck!

is taht with my new addition of the donating for less fortunate kids...

Georgetown is one of my top choices. Tufts is a mayb

I want to be premed so ill be majoring in Bio

What would be the best topic to write about

what can i do to make my Gtown chances higher?

Hmmm, your new senior year EC sounds like a club I helped start last year...which fixes up computers and donates them to the needy as well as go to senior homes to help the elderly learn Windows...:D

I think that your ECs are pretty good...you might want to work on improving your SAT score to give yourself a better chance

Is your GPA unweighted or weighted? If it's unweighted, then it's not too shabby...if it's weighted, it would be more helpful to us if you provided your unweighted GPA or just your raw grades

I think that while some of the colleges on your list (like stanford) may be very high reaches for you, you definitely have a shot at a good number of them...provided that your app, essay, and recs are pretty good, of course :)

Good luck and enjoy the rest of your summer

Chance me back?
