Yeah, it’s mostly due to my freshman/sophomore grades. I stepped it up in junior year and earned a 101 weighted gpa for that year (compared to my overall, 96) and this year I have 104.17 with the quarter ending next week.
Yes, your GPA is going to be a problem for UMich too. It is pretty much out of the admission range and they view GPA and course rigor to be most important.
Same boat as you bro. High scores bit low on the GPA. Im applying to Cornell Human Ec ED. I know Cornell Engineering is incredibly competitive stats-wise, so the GPA might hurt you
My definition of reach might be different from others on this forum, but I would say Cornell is a high reach. IMO low reach when it comes to Ivies means you’re highly competitive, with chances 5-15% above normal acceptance rate.
GPA is a huge problem and ECs besides research seem a bit weak. I don’t really think you would have a better chance at Cornell than the average applicant, even with ED boost.
If your junior year grades were amazing and your senior year first quarter grades are basically all As, then your GPA might not be as much of a problem. But still reach for Cornell like most other applicants to Ivies
