im no expert but i think your grades may be a little low especially your AP tests but your EC, especially with track, are pretty solid. I say you have a chance with all and duke and Georgetown may be very slight reaches

duke is almost a fullout reach
cornell is a semi-reach
brown is a reach..i wouldnt even apply unless you think youll get mad lucky and write a publishable essay

i think you need to pull your chem grade up. also, no SAT score. dedication in track is pretty ok e.c., what 5k and mile times are you running ? you might be faster than you think.

im not really planning on taking the SAT, is that bad? It says ACT or SAT...i decided on the ACT
as for my running..
my 5k is high 16's
mile is 4 30
half mile is 2 00
400meter is like 50

but again-i dont wanta run in college
im just wondering on my chances for
cornell
duke
umich
georgetown
brown
UF
in that order is what im thinking on my current stats
thanks for all your help
CJ

okay, so your 5k time is pretty good. i think it'll serve as a good e.c. and show colleges that you were dedicated in the sport. if you make an SAT of 2150 +, then i'd say cornell- reach duke- reach, UM-match Georgetown- slight reach
brown- reach, UF in. I think you can get into possibly duke, cornell, or brown if you apply early.

the running club should suffice and even if you don't want to run, contacting a coach helps. and sorry i never read that you were taking ACT. Try to get 32 on the ACT. In my personal opinion, ACT scores tend to be easier to raise, but only if you practice a lot to get faster (spec. in reading and science).
