Well your stats will defintely get you in the conversation. I really think that the only people who can judge if your essays are “Phenomenal” are those who are reading them in comparision to 30,000 others & how they “fit” with the mission of that particular college

Well, it was phenomenal to me. Thanks

Bump? 10 char

You definitely have a strong, solid application for cornell ED, except nothing really stands out.

You have a ~60% chance of getting in, in my opinion, but dont be surprised at all if you dont. If your essays and recs are going to be considered as great as you say they are, then you should have a pretty good- very good chance.

Good luck!! coming from a fellow ed’er

How can you have AP Scholar with Distinction when you’ve only taken 2 AP tests?

I have already graduated…

@cortana431 - I want to be a vet…and all my extra-curriculars lean towards veterinary med. The doctors club was really for aspiring vets and the like, and we did a lot to help the animal community, such as raise money for pet food banks, dog washes to benefit local animal shelter, I have great recs from the vets of the a.h I go to so yeah…I’m just doing what I truly enjoy. I mean c’mon people have gotten in without an amazing thing that stands them out. I don’t really know what to do for that; but since I’m taking a gap year I still have time. Any suggestions on standing out?

@bbj I know. I was simply pointing out that you don’t have anything that really stands out, but if your recommendations and essays are going to be taken as excellent as you say they are, then that could be your hook :). But yes, hooks definitely aren’t necessary to get into a top school, particularly Cornell. Schools like MIT are a different matter…

At this point, the only thing you can really do right now to stand out is to write the best essay you possibly can.

Thanks, I hope I get in. Appreciate the help man. Good luck!
