Hey guys!

I'm a HS senior from VA and I want to know my chances for Cornell's College of Engineering ED?

Unweighted GPA: 3.69 / 4 (Pretty bad, I know... )
Weighted: 4.52 / 5
SAT: 2290 (Math: 800, Writing: 740, Reading: 750)

SAT IIs: Physics, Math II, Chem all 800s

I've done AP Calc BC, Physics C (both), Chem, English Language, US History, Spanish, Statistics and got a 5 on all of them (but I'm not sure whether Cornell considers AP scores). However I got Bs in the Calc BC and Chemistry courses.

Some extra stuff:

National AP Scholar
On school's Science Olympiad and Science Bowl teams
Have around 250 volunteer hours
I'm on the track team (not very good or anything, though).

This year my courses are:

AP US Gov & Politics
Multivariable Calc Honors
AP Biology
Honors language arts
And some other stuff...

Oh and do you guys have other suggestions for places to apply?

Thanks!

Your SAT scores are GREAT and you have taken many AP classes as well. I think you should begin focusing on your grades more, though. Write a good essay, and I say you have a pretty decent chance!

I’d say your shot at Cornell is great, especially with ED. Make sure to focus on your grades this year to raise the GPA, just as a plus factor.
Not sure if Cornell considers AP scores in the admissions process, but they do have a great AP credit policy.
I’m also applying Cornell ILR ED this year as well. Good luck!

I have a question:- Does Cornell defer its ED applicants to regular decision round
if they are international students??? My teacher told they do, but, I dont think, I hope its not true.
I was really hoping I have a good shot at Cornell bcoz its ED acceptance rate is much higher.
