I think you have an exceptional chance based on your academic standings. My only suggestions are to complete at least 4 or more years of a foreign language, so take spanish 4. Consider working on your volunteer work, it is lacking somewhat. If possible take as many college classes- some high schools allow you to take classes at a local college for free- or college equivalent level classes. I think you have very good chance though.

@ivygirl1819 Do I need to take academic based college courses? I already took psychology and sociology at a local college last summer. I am thinking of taking more science and math based college courses next year if I can fit them into my schedule.

If you are interested in Computer Science, Biomedical, etc. then definitely take science or math based. Doing well in courses like those will show colleges that you are not only dedicated and truly interested in what you want to major in, but also that you can handle the level of coursework required in college. If you can receive college credits in these classes that would be helpful for when you actually attend college. Maybe look into some of the good math/science summer programs or take classes during the summer also.

I think with your profile and achievements, all of those schools should be fairly good matches. However, Cornell, Yale, Columbia, and UPenn are still slight reaches, especially Yale and Columbia. There are just too many qualified applicants to the Ivies.

I know two girls who applied EA to Stanford for Engineering and both got it. They had similar stats to you. I think Stanford is looking to accept more women into their engineering program. Maybe you should consider applying there too. You’re a great student. You are an ideal candidate for all the schools above. Apply before the scholarship deadline for USC, I think you are in the running for a merit scholarship. Best of luck.

@AmaranthineD I think I may also apply to MIT. I heard that girls have better chances of getting accepted into Engineering programs in tech-focused schools like MIT and CalTech during ED. I am a little wary of going to a school MIT, though, because I want to double major in Psychology.
