Chances for Cornell

First, I just graduated high school in June, and I decided to take a year off. Would this affect my chances of getting in at all?

Second, do you think my stats are good enough to get in?
I was the valedictorian of my class of about 110 people.
I had a 3.97 unweighted GPA (My school didn’t do weighted GPA).
SAT score of 2240.
Member of Spanish Club, Health Careers Club, Teens Against Corporate Tobacco Club, and National Honor Society.
Received Gold and Silver medals on the National Spanish Exam.
I don’t know how much this matters, but I had two newspaper articles written about me by my local news, and I participated in a quiz bowl that was broadcast on television. I feel like I could spin that to be a little impressive.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you very much.

What are you doing in your Gap year?

I plan on majoring in Pre-Med, so I’m planning on doing some volunteering in medical institutions. Not entirely sure what yet, but I’d definitely like to do something in a hospital or lab.

Bump.

I don’t think that 4+ months post graduation and no plans that reflects well on your college application.

Did you apply to Cornell last year?

I dont think member is enough for cornell… are you president/ founder of any?

No, I didn’t apply to Cornell last year. And I wasn’t the president or founder of any clubs.

Unlikely.
