I'm currently a junior studying in Macau. I plan on applying for Romance Studies [specifically Portuguese].

Since freshman year i have attended a college prep school [1 semester], a private catholic school [1 semester], and a bilingual boarding school in china [1 year]. At the present I'm studying at the Portuguese school of Macau.

I have yet to take the SAT's or the ACTs, but I plan on doing so this coming year.

I was top in my class of about 80 last year. I actually won a scholarship that year for the next year's entire tuition, but decided to attend a portuguese school.
Passed Business Level 1 and Accounting and Bookkeeping Level 1 test with a first class pass.

Commercial Club [1 Year]
Cooking Club [1 Year]
Film Club [1 Year]
Have written for two school journals in two different languages
School Ambassador [1 Year]
Won 4th place in a Mandarin Speech contest
Have the equivalent of a "Good Student Award" from a pretty prestigious chinese military camp
2nd place for both 100m dash and 100m relay
Studied the gu-zheng for 7 years [stopped last year as I couldn't practice in boarding school]
Have a scholarship to attend a summer course at the University of Coimbra this summer

I paused my education for my first year in China to gain proficiency in Mandarin and travel to some villages.

I speak English fluently, Mandarin fluently [but my writing still needs much improvement], and some Portuguese.

Nationality: American
Residing: Mainland China
Ethnicity: Mainly of Filipino and Chinese descent. Part Spanish and Russian. One quarter of my chinese blood is Manchurian tribal descent, if that helps.

Hooks: Maybe that I really care about my education? I've been waking up at 5 am every school day this year to arrive at school on time. This is necessary because as I live in mainland china and my school is in Macau I have to cross immigration every morning. I don't know if this counts though.

Thanks =]
