oh, I forgot to list AP Chemistry for next year’s classes

Oh wow, I forgot to list community service and that stuff.

I work at my local synagogue and assist with mentally disabled children on the weekends. I also tutor numerous students in subjects varying from algebra I to calculus to english and grammar.
Also I’m also currently a TA for the AP Computer Science class in my school. Next year they’re canceling AP Computer Science, so I’ll be teaching my own course outside of school.

Thanks for chancing me!
You seem like a great applicant!!!
Especially your APs… just… wow!! I wish I had as many APs offered in my school!! Sucks to be international! :stuck_out_tongue:
And your awards are quite impressive I must say!
I wouldn’t be too worried about any of the colleges you mentioned… other than caltech (and thats because Caltech admissions are really quite a crapshot! you can never really tell with them! )
Unless you practically abused the college on your essays, I wouldnt worry!
All the best! :)

oh haha, im only a junior. I’m not applying til next year. thanks =)

Solid resume, man! I’m in Comp Sci now, it’s definitely my favorite class this year. Not sure I have what it takes to pursue a major in CS, but you clearly do. Nice awards (ISEF!). I could definitely see you at MIT. Caltech also seems like a really cool place, I know a guy who just got accepted there.

Best of luck to you, I’d say you’re very well-off. Looking back at your OP, I’m extremely impressed.

bump bump bump

Wow, you’re a really great applicant. You’ll get into almost all top schools you apply to, I bet.

The only real area that could be developed would be in-school ECs, e.g. clubs, etc. The schools are gonna know that you’ll do really great research, but they’ll also want to see that you’ll be a functioning member of the social community, which could be shown by more leadership positions.

But, on the whole, you’re really strong. Congrats on being a Siemens semifinalist and JSHS regional finalist as a junior. That’s really impressive.

was JSHS finalist as a sophomore haha. they cut the comp sci category to save costs this year so i couldnt even enter.
and I was project leader for my research if that counts for anything haha. no real class officer election stuff in my school. I do a lot of tutoring and teach some courses, so I was hoping that would make up for the leadership stuff

wow again, you’re an excellent applicant. Though Caltech, MIT and ivies are crapshoots I think you’ll get in to Caltech b/c of all that research!! how did you get involved in stuff like that? I want to but dont know where to start. MIT i think is more of a reach than caltech just because MIT kinda wants the whole package more so than Caltech meaning caltech would appreciate all the research more than MIT, but the tae kwon do could compensate for dearth of keadership positions. everywhere else you’re in i think.

MIT just hates every good person out there lol. Acceptance rate is very very very low, but if your SAt is above 2300 you have a pretty good shot at MIT. Don’t be upset if you get rejected from there because, shockingly, even the smartest people out there get rejected.

Weee, fellow Splasher! :)

That is all.

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

haha thanks. and actually I did all of the research independently. I couldn’t find a lab or a mentor so I just did stuff on my own whenever I had a cool idea and it worked out well for me.
I’m kinda out of ideas now (I think it’s because all of my friends who inspired my creativity graduated last year) so I’ve been trying to find a lab for this summer. and every program I’ve applied to rejected me haha. so trying for a lab in previous years wouldnt have helped anyway.
if you’re interested in research just go for it. you don’t need a lab or a teacher, just a creative mind
thanks for all the responses guys =)

You seem like a really good applicant. As a supplement to your app I would submit some of the teaching lectures from your compsci course that you teach. Also if any of your students win awards/do very well in programming competitions (ie USACO Gold level) make sure to mention that. Over all pretty good. I think that the only thing you may want is something to make you more well balanced (ie: Essay competition etc)
Still, you are a good applicant.

Good Luck

Chance me please!
