Middle-class asian family, parents have gone to college. No traumatizing events/challenges worth mentioning.
Not many "official" or big ECs but I have:

- Been an active member (no leader position, though) in two different clubs Jr and Sr year
- Taking violin classes (and with that, participated in a couple recitals) since Sophmore year
- T/A during a class period for a semester junior year
- Joined Orchestra (also as a class) senior year
- Frequently babysat neighborhood kids since freshman year, but for $

Been having a bit too much fun these past four years...now I'm worried. Here's a list of schools I've been considering for Biomedical Engineering
CSU Cal Poly SLO
San Jose State (CSU)
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC San Diego

by the way, which of the CSUs you think have the best BME program?
thanks for any responses!!

vc89:

UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCD: Slight Reach

thanks!
any more thoughts?

The only Cal State that offers a biomedical engineering bachelors of science degree is Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Cal State Fresno offers a biomedical physics program also, but that's it for now, although Cal State San Marcos plans to start a biomedical program in a year or so.

The average UW GPA for CPSLO is 3.7 (weighted 3.9), with average SAT CR of 594 and average SAT math of 639, average ACT is 28--so obviously you should use your ACT score for applying, and I would rate you a match to slight reach here. You are a safe match at San Jose State. I agree with flopsy on the UC ratings. You would be a match at UCSC.

Thanks for the info.
I hadnt realized that other CSUs didnt offer that major
last bump
