Just was wondering what people thought my chances would be of getting into Boulder, I have a few friends applying and had never really looked much into the school until recently. I think I am going to apply regardless of the answers I get here, but just wondering if you guys think it is worth the shot...

Out of sate, average classes at my school however it's a public school well known for it's difficulty and academics, no volunteer hours or clubs other than playing JV water polo sophomore year.

Here’s some good news - being out of state with limited ECs probably won’t hurt you. The 24 on the ACT probably wouldn’t hurt either.

The bad news is your GPA. Of the 2008 -2009 admits, 94% had a GPA higher than a 2.9, and only 7% of admits were in the bottom half of their graduating class.

Search their web site and google “CU common data set” for lots of information on admissions and profiles of their incoming students.

Hey man, we’re almost like the same person. I have a 2.8 gpa and a 1290/1600 SAT, I have more EC’s than you (lot’s of music, sports, and clubs). I was recently awarded outstanding participant for the National Achievement Award, so hopefully that’s in my favor as well. Good luck man, I hope I get in as well. What else do people think about our chances?
