your gpa and course schedule is definitely ivy material. your sats however are a bit below competitive level for ivies, so you should really work on getting those up. your ecs are good, though you could make them stronger by including a practical application for them in your admissions essay to show how you could benefit the school you are applying to. for example, i see you are taking AP spanish and are in the spanish honor society as well as the asian culture club, apply this to a possible international relations or economics major.

You’re definitely competitive, and if you apply early, I think you stand a pretty good shot! =] (Jealous of your SAT II scores haha)

Bump10char

Don’t worry about test scores. A 34 is more than adequate for Ivys. You have a good shot across the board.

Your ACT is competitive, your SAT isn’t

Since my sat isn’t “competitive”, will it hurt me if I already sent scores (from free score report)?

Make sure you get your SAT up! However, your ECs, class rigor, and GPA are all competitive for Dartmouth. That being said, you need to check how highly your school ranks in terms of difficulty. If you come from an extremley difficult school, taking all those APs and doing well in them is a huge achievement that will be highlighted in your app. However, if your school isnt that difficult, your GPA may be taken with a grain of salt, considering your SAT is below average. Also, I noticed on your ECs that you are in Asian Culture Club. I reccomend you do not check “Asain” on your app, just check “Wish not to specify”. Not to make this a debate on affirmative action, but being asain will hurt in college admissions. Good luck, you are a great applicant and you’ll excel wherever you end up!

@abear Yes, I will be sure to opt out of ethnic identification. I also will probably also check the box that says I won’t apply for finaid. Will not going for finaid hurt me or help me?

I’m no expert but the schools that you’re looking at don’t seem like strict “we-take-SAT-only” schools, and your score is much more competitive in the ACT than SAT. I would send SAT IIs and ACTs.
Your rank is awesome and I’m jealous you’re shadowing! Overall, you’re looking really good. I would definitely try next year to do something with a lasting contribution.
