Ye my mid year grades have taken a beating as a result of my current situation. Pleas be honest about my chances. I wrote an essay about my current situation and one about my research involving diabetes( I am a diabetic). I seirously think im screwed

I wish you the best of luck, but I think Dartmouth is a high reach. Don't lose hope though, even if you don't get in now there are many ways to end up with a degree from a top college. If you want more advice PM me.

ye I thought so too slipper1234. My scores and gpa are too low. However, is it still possible for them to accept me?

Its possible but your scores and GPA are lower than average, and this year was a record breaking year. Without any special hooks it will be difficult in my opinion. Where else did you apply?

Cornell, BC, BU, Uchicago, NYU, umd, carnegie mellon, hopkins. I already got into my safeties: bing and stony. Plus I am low income and may qualify for HEOP. Do you think I can get into any. I thought my ecs would stand out: ayurveda clinic, research, volunttering? I guess not

bumppppppppppppp

I think you'll get into BU, BC, NYU, UMD, and have a very good shot at CMU. Hopkins is a reach but you have a shot. Cornell will be a little tougher.

I really want to go to UChicago as well. Do you think I will have a decent shot there? I spent long hours planning my essays and I thought they were good. I also know someone working on the cmu residency board (dunno if that helps). Im sending my research abstract for hopkins, as well as an essay on my battling poverty in this past year. Thanks for the suggestions slipper1234. Should I most likely expect a rejection from dartmouth though?

Chicago is a tough one. I think you jave a shot. I think you might have taken the SAT instead of the ACT. I had a friend who got a 28 on the ACT but got a 1500 on the SAT. He ended up at Princeton.

Dartmouth is going to be tough simply because of the ACT score. You never know though, just don't expect to get in.

i saw though on their site that the mid 50 is between 27-33. I thought I fell into that category. Also, since i am low income, I thought that that would justify my lowish act and slightley lower grades. Am I wrong?

bumppppppppppppp

bump any more critiques would be greatful. Also, I am sending them my research supplement, abstract, and additional essay on my current situation. Do you think these will help?

bumpppp. Btw does anyone think they could critique my additional essay I sent? I really hope it will help my chances.

big reach 10

smoke&mirrors do you think you can critique my additional essays that I sent to dartmouth?

if you already sent them why do you need someone to critique them?

well i was wondering whether they would help

do people with my stats ever get into dartmouth? Like low income asians with drives?

Ones who are recruited athletes or with higher scores.

so essays and passions are useless for people like me :(
