Thanks so much!!!

Unfortunately, your SAT is too low, especially in Math.

I’m curious, when you say “top schools,” where have you been admitted? I think knowing your acceptance history would give us a more accurate picture of your application.

I wouldn’t say your SATs are low, but you should retake them, as it would increase your chances. You clearly are a clever student, so continue to study and get around 700 in mathematics and critical reading and you’ll be fine.

Good ECs and course load especially given your school. SATs are not bad but getting even a little higher on Math and CR would be a big boost. I think it is still a reach given Dartmouth’s competition, but a low reach because it is possible since you are a good candidate.

Chance back?

Thanks, I know the SAT math is especially low, but instead of re-taking the SAT, I took the ACT and was satisfied with the 32 (which is the average for their applicant pool), and was told that Dartmouth would look at the higher of the two tests.

When I say my top schools, they’re not top schools like Dartmouth, just high on my list :stuck_out_tongue:
Was accepted into WPI with 15k and RPI with 28k scholarship.

hmm…well as someone who got into Dartmouth (but I chose a different college) and have many many friends there, I think the one thing is the SAT, as everyone else says. ECs are perfectly fine. You’re at the point where many of the other applicants are similar (unless they’re that kid that found a new way to study cancer O.o) I would say that you’re GPA is not low, but at the same time it doesn’t stand out (sorry if that sounds harsh). I know someone who’s at Dartmouth who had a similar GPA as you, so that’s not all that matters, so getting a higher SAT will REALLY help. Good luck! It sounds that you’re pretty lucky already :)

gty101- would you mind saying what college you DID choose, or other ones you were accepted into since you got into dartmouth? :)

Thanks everyone for being really helpful and honest! I know it’s a long shot but I thought I might as well try… never know. I won’t be re-taking the SAT’s, so that will either make or break me I guess, but I felt sorta confident sending in my SAT II’s and ACT score, because I have strong academics/ec’s to back them up. Shrug!

Dartmouth - Reach

Hey…Im applying just like you!! Awesome EC’s btw…
I think you have a great shot…:D

Dartmouth-high reach

Dartmouth - reach for almost everyone

like Brown, Dartmouth routinely says no to 70%-80% of highly qualified applicants

you seem highly qualifed

like thousands of others

good luck, though!!!
