chances for direct md programs?

<p>I'm Asian-American from NY looking at direct 6,7, or 8 year combined medical programs such as Brown PLME, Rice/Baylor, UCLA, CWRU and basically open to any other accelerated med programs.</p>

<p>Grades:</p>

<p>-cumulative 3.73 UW GPA, 3.85 W GPA
-Rank: top 25% (did the calculations myself and was actually in 11% but my school only differentiates between top 10%, 25%, 50%..)</p>

<p>-6APs by the end of junior year, taking 6 more APs currently senior year
-AP Bio 5
-AP Chem 5
-AP Word history 4
-APUSH 5
-AP Human geo 5
-AP Lang & Comp 4</p>

<p>-2270 SAT
-35 ACT w/ writing</p>

<p>ECs:</p>

<p>-300+hours volunteer at local hospital
-500+hours researching at SUNY Westbury with a college professor
-500+hours shadowing various surgeons, radiologists, cardiologists
-2 publications accepted by NIH
-1st place at regional Intel ISEF fair (Long Island region if that matters?)
-4th place in category at Intel ISEF
-two times Siemens semi-finalist
-1st~3rd place placements at many local science fairs </p>

<p>Sports: </p>

<p>-Varsity swimming (junior ~senior)
-Varsity Track & Fields Captain (sophomore~senior)
-JV Basketball (freshmen~sophomore)</p>

<p>BA/MD programs are reaches for anyone. Except maybe Sophie Davis… but is going to a CUNY for the undergrad part of this a problem for you?</p>

<p>Would you attend Case Western anyway if you couldn’t get into accelerated med?</p>
