Chances for Duke, Hopkins, Yale, UMD

<p>I will be applying regular decision to UMD, Duke, Hopkins, Yale, UPenn, Davidson, Wake Forest, and UVA. I would love to hear what you think of my chances!</p>

<p>Background: I plan on majoring in Biology and going to medical school. Duke is my top choice and I am a legacy at Hopkins so I am most interested in hearing about my chances for those two schools. </p>

<p>Ethnicity: Hispanic (Puerto Rican)</p>

<p>ACT: 33 </p>

<p>SAT II's: Yet to take (predict 700 plus in Math 2 and U.S. History)</p>

<p>GPA: 3.92 unweighted</p>

<p>Class rank: 4/360 </p>

<p>AP/IB Scores: AP World History-5, AP Statistics-5, AP Psychology-5, AP Human Geography-5, AP Macro Economics-4, IB Spanish-6</p>

<p>EC's: (Most important) Captain of Varsity Soccer and Tennis Teams, SGA VP 2 years, Spanish and Macro Tutor, 200+ hours as volunteer at outreach clinic, NHS, Club Soccer, Chorus</p>

<p>Awards: None of any real significance (All-county soccer and a few minor nominations)</p>

<p>Essays: Very solid I believe... about having a twin who has difficulties, and about how being a captain of hispanic ethnicity has helped bridge gaps on my school soccer team</p>

<p>Hey thanks for posting! I forgot to mention that I am in the IB Program. The only test ive taken however is IB Spanish which I got a 6 on.</p>

<p>The only schools I would question you getting into Yale and UPenn because of how unpredictable they are. I think your in at Duke also, but not guaranteed. Also your Puerto Rican which helps your chances immensely. You have an amazing GPA, amazing ACT, and good EC’s. Good Luck…</p>

<p>Yea I agree with mostly everyone above. You have a great SAT score for anyone of your schools and by your rank and gpa I would say your pretty well qualified for all your schools. So overall, I think you have a solid chance for yale and upenn, a really good chance for DUKE and Johns Hopkins and UVA. Being a smart hispanic is your gateway into these schools --its mine too lol good luck</p>
