Maybe, but my upward trends actually exist in specific subjects, two specifically. I had 4 B+'s in total, two of which were in summer chemistry (one of the hardest courses at my school) and AP chemistry with the teacher that only gives about 9 A’s. Last semester I got an A in orgo, so I showed I can do chem. Then same thing with french, B+'s for French 2 and 3, but A in 4. Oh well, I actually have a legacy at Berkeley, but according to my counselor I need an actual arts course.

I also forgot to give my unweighted GPA, its a 3.92.

I’d say you have a very good chance at chicago. My friend just recently got in with similar SAT scores, not to mention your ECs are outstanding!

The ivies are always hard to tell though. I’d say a low reach for UPenn. That’s the only ivy league school for which I think I can offer you a reasonable prediction.

Since you seem to be from a competitive area, the standards must be higher for you guys.

Cornell - reach
UPenn - reach
Duke - match
UChicago - depends on your essays, for you stats, I would say high match
H/Y/P/S - reach, as it is for everyone.

I think you have a very good chance at all of these but HYPS would be a reach for anybody. I know from experience that it is easy to raise the writing SAT (just make sure you fill both pages for the essay and study the writing rules they test for- the Barron’s 2400 book is very good for that) :)

Hey man, thanks for the chance on my thread.

I think you have a great shot at Cornell or Duke, perhaps a low reach (those schools are reaches for almost anyone). You have a great chance at Penn also, but maybe slightly less than for the other two.
SATs are great (schools dont really care about Writing)
ECs are great since you have a mix of sports and academics

I am not sure how ur schools GPA works but for my school the average GPA needed to get into any ivy is 4.65 -4.75. We are rewarded 5 pts for honors/APs and 4 for regular classes. But if a 4.211 is good for your school then you are set

Your profile is surely qualified to all of the schools you listed, but the naked truth is that you are actually competing with your equally intelligent classmates; if you are in the top 15-20% of your class, you gain the power to choose your dream school. Otherwise, this “chance me” thing is meaningless.

This is the advantage or disadvantage of being a student of TJHSST as far as the top college admission is concerned.

I’d say that with those scores, as long as you get the writing up, then you should be good to go, as long as you get A’s this year and next year… I’d say you have a good shot at Duke for sure, and maybe just get the GPA up a little bit for Cornell!
