Good all around, you’re lucky the SAT area you bombed is writing, that is by far the least important. 1600/1600 on CR & math, is solid as ****
Penn - Reach
Cornell - High Match
Duke - High Match
Chicago - Match
HYPS - Its a crapshoot, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply, ur above average applicant to say the least

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/932735-chance-me-i-will-gladly-chance-back-ivies-etc.html

hey thanks for the advice. Just so you guys know my GPA is now a 4.37 Weighted and 3.94 UW

Penn - LowReach
Cornell - Match
Duke - High Match/low reach
Chicago - Match
HYPS - As qualified as any applicant should be, but it’s a crapshoot.

Good luck :)

UPenn 40%
Duke 50%
UChicago 40%
Cornell 75%

Its really a shame that the slots for HYPS are taken up by the top students at your school because your resume is oneof the top threeI haveever read on this site. I’m surprised at the chances this persons formula above me calculated because I would expect slightly higher. Your an amazing student and individual, portray that through your essays and I’d say you’ll get into most of the schools you’ve listed.

No offense to the OP you are referring to, but you probably havn’t seen enough resumes on CC to know what is truly extraordinary on this site.

lol, you should try going to my school, that is even more depressing than CC. no offense taken.

Haha I’m well aware of the students at TJ.

OP, have you been in TJ since freshman year?

yes, I have. That is why my activities are 4 years.

What did you have to do to get in?
By the way I can’t go because I live in Texas and have already started high school. I know that TJ mostly accepts only incoming freshman.

I am just wondering why this thread is getting sooo hot… o.0

tjkid2011
I have sent you another PM.

By the way, great that you go to TJ.
Which is better? TJ or Stuy?

what is a post AP class O.o

Your EC’s are so-so with decent leadership positions, but I don’t see anything too outstanding. In terms of test scores and rigor you’re fine, and you’ll most probably get in, especially with good essays and teacher recommendations.

Don’t stress about it too much. I’m from Virginia also and I attend my local Governor’s school, so I know how the workload/competition can get. Take a deep breath, after all even if you don’t get in, you’ll most definitely get into UVa, which is still a great school in its own right.

lol Thomas Jefferson High School
top 50 there is pretty damn impressive. Math+Cr are also perfect since most schools ignore writing. ECs seem pretty solid.
IMO you will get into 2+ of those schools. Theres no harm in applying to HYPS if you have time/willing to spend 80 bucks since you’re from TJ and just outside of the top 10 percent.

with schools like duke penn and cornell youre never in guaranteed, but I think you’re definitely competitive and have a good shot :)

chance me back?
