<p>I go to a pretty bad public high school where there is a large chunk of students who drop out or get expelled because of the tough situations the kids are in (live in poverty, crime infested places). But the majority are normal high school kids. And I have to say that the upper level academics there are pretty solid.</p>

<p>I should have also some decent letters of recommendation.</p>

<p>You have a great chance at Duke!!! You have a very good GPA, almost perfect very excellent test scores and good EC’s. You can ED to almost guarantee your chances, but you should apply to a couple reaches just for the heck of it as well (such as HYPS maybe?)</p>

<p>thanks chanced you! and i’m definitely applying to stanford, and maybe harvard just for the heck of it. also, i need to see how much aid i would get since duke is very expensive. so i’m just going to apply RD</p>

<p>You have a very good shot at Duke, your GPA/ACT scores are on point and you’re a member of NHS and have good extracurriculars. </p>
