Hey all! Sorry to post another one of these, just really anxious since I've wanted to go to this school for 6 years. I'm a senior at the #2 best ranked public high school in the state of connecticut. I applied first choice Undecided Business, Second choice: ACES...My stats include:

3.43 GPA Unweighted (school doesn't weight)
Sats: 1170/1600
CR: School doesn't rank, if i had to guess upper 20%

Course load: Beyond requirments including an extra math course taken sophmore year amd 1 Ap this year.

President of 5 different clubs, member of another 4...

Played 2 recreational sports: basketball and baseball

Won 2 state economic titles, sponsered by Uconn.

Work 15 Hours a week at a local job.

Community Services and Volunteer hours are endless (too many to list)

Recomendations were from 2 alumni teachers who know me very well

I applied on October 11th and havnt heard anything back. My friend who has the same gpa but higher SAT scores heard back a few days ago and he applied 2 weeks after me?

Any advice?

Sorry again for such a long post...
Thanks all!

I would say you have a good chance, but your SAT score is on the lower end, and it doesn’t seem like you’ve taken many challenging courses from your description.

If you are curious about your application status, feel free to call the admissions office.

When I moved in 9th grade, I was behind in classes because my old school was basically 3 years behind in the curriculum. For example the incoming freshman were in their 3rd year of Spanish when I would be beginning my 1st. Since I moved I worked as hard as i could to meet up to those challenging courses. I have taken 5 math courses as opposed to the required 3, and similar with both science and history. My math course now is an honors pre-calc. Although I’m only taking one AP I feel that my schools curriculum is much harder than other schools. Will UConn notice that? Thanks

They will compare what you completed v. what is available at your school. If you had some sort of difficulty that affected your performance, hopefully you addressed that in your essay.

Well, actually the difficulty I faced was coming from a town where an A is like a C here. (If you get what I mean) My essay was actually about the move, the struggles I faced, and how its made me a better individual.

I don’t know when you’ll hear back, but I applied Oct 30th and I found out mid November that I got in.

I have a 3.42 gpa, 26 act, and 1720sat or 1130sat and I applied on Oct 27th for EA and i still haven’t found out if i got in. but on naviance, 10 out of the 140 or so kids that applied already found out that they got in. Also from a really good public school in CT. Go spartans! oh, the website says EA is by early feb, so yeah probably by then.
