What are my chances at

Cornell ED
University of Michigan RA
Emory-Oxford college EA
Notre Dame EA

Thanks SOOO much!

Today I spoke with a counselor in Notre Dame's admission office about whether my son should apply EA. He has a 3.7 unweighted & 4.2 weighted GPA (about the same as yours), ranked either 15th or 16th out of 165 of his class, and has a 2330 SAT (800 CR/800 Math/730 writing).

She told me class rank is EVERYTHING in early admissions. If you are not in the top 3-4% of your class, it would be best to apply regular admission. She said she very much wants Brandon to apply, but RA, because she thinks his chances would be much much better.

That's right from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

I really hope that helps you.

thank you!

is that true for other colleges too?

Hi Wowser147,

I am sure the admissions counselor was speaking specifically on what she's seen at Notre Dame.

Other colleges will have their own EA policies - written and unwritten.

I see. Thank you SO much!
Now I should reconsider.... hmm..

Oh, BTW, do you think a rec from my priest could help? (ND being Catholic University and all)

Anyone else ? Please, I'd appreciate your opinions!

bummpppp....

You know, it might be a good idea to call Notre Dame's admission office about that rec letter . . . and your individual situation.

This admissions counselor was so great. She called me back on my cell phone; the calls dropped 3 different times in the middle of our conversations, and she called me back every single time.

Just from this small experience, I can begin to see why so many people love this school.

bumppppp!!!

thank you for your reply Brandon's mom! you are very helpful!
