I would retake all your SATs, including subjects. Or retake subjects and try ACT.
Your ECs are good and I'm sure your GPA is high enough.

Bring up those scores and write an essay that sets you apart from the others and you have a good chance. =)

What school are you applying to?

thanks :)
im probably applying to college of arts and sciences.
what would be a good aim for my SAT scores? for next time?

Hmm....I am guessing you're a CT resident? As far as I know, an ideal SAT I score would be meeting the 75% of Cornell applicants, which would be 1500 (Math+Reading) Just keep up the work. I think they'd love to have you. Do apply early. The worst thing that can happen is having spent 70 dollars.
Great ECs by the way!

One question. Why did you take Spanish for your subject test? You probably would've known ahead of time that you weren't going to do well.

i didn't know spanish was going to be that hard... I was pressured to take 2 subject tests...
say that my total SAT score is 1400 (cr + math)... is that "okay"??

ice skating? JOIN THE SYNCHRO TEAM!! lol

i would look at the stats for last year's incoming freshman class for an indication of an "okay" SAT score. i would jsut try to break a 600 in CR

and just make sure you spend time on your application instead of just throwing it together last minute

Futureiceskater, I'm also a Asian male figure skater applying to Cornell this year! If we both get accepted to Cornell, you and I have got to meet.

Ok, about your statistics, you SAT is within of their acceptance range, but not the high end. Have you tried ACT? I only got 1900 on SAT but I tried ACT and got 31 (~2100 SAT). You should definitely improve your SAT Subject scores too. Do you have any significant recognition or awards? Maybe in skating?

Lastly, figure skating is probably one of your most unique talents. Cornell loves diversity and up 'til now, I only know that only you and I are figure skaters applying to Cornell this year. So that should give you a small edge (Haha...get it? Edge! Man, I crack myself up) over other applicants' ECs.

P.S. There are so many things we have in common -- piano, science fair, figure skating, choir. I really hope we both get accepted!
