Chances for ED 2016 (I know it's early but please help!)

So my dream college is Boston University. I have already visited campus twice and I would be so thrilled to go. My stats are not amazing, but they seem about average to me. What do you guys think? For those of you accepted, are my stats similar to yours? Do I have a good chance? And will applying ED increase that chance by any noticeable degree?

GPA: 3.54 (unweighted)/4.1 (weighted)

PSAT:177 (didn’t study at all, am hoping for somewher around 2000 on the SAT in the spring)

SAT II: Haven’t taken any yet, but plan on taking Biology and Math 2 in the spring

APs: European History (3) and Statistics (4)

Rank: My school doesn’t rank, but I would guess that I am around the top 10%.

Junior Year Course Load (now): Web Page, AP Biology, Pre-AP Calculus, AP Language and Composition, US History Honors, Spanish 4

Senior Year Course Load: AP Calculus AB, AP Literature, Spanish 5, AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science

Major: Biology

ECs:
-Math Team
-Ski and Snowboard Club
-Varsity Soccer Team
-Indoor Track (captain)
-Outdoor Track(captain)
-Community Service Club

Summers:
-Worked at local froyo shop for 2 summers
-Internship with navy base
-Internship at local hospital
-Volunteer work at local animal shelter
-Volunteer work at local bird sanctuary
-Thinking about doing the BU summer challenge this year. Would it add much to my application?

Essays: I think I will be able to write some pretty good essays

Recs: I have a few teachers in mind that I am close with that will be able to write good recs. I do not know my counselor very well yet, but hopefully I will get a good rec from her as well.

Looks good! You are very smart to start early! I wish we had started this process in my son’s junior year instead of waiting till this year to do everything. You should keep your grades high, do something interesting over your summer that you can write about (like interning or volunteering), and start finding backup schools. In my opinion, you should have at least two safeties that you know you can get into, and that you can afford. And think about some match schools too. Try to visit all your schools, I’ve heard it helps! I don’t know too much about Boston U (sorry!) but it sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck! :)

Yes you are very likely to get in. I was accepted ED with an SAT of 1910 to SMG  Which school are you applying to?

Eyeballing your basic stats, I think BU is a match school, so you’d have a shot. Doing the BU summer challenge can do nothing but add to your application–if you’re so inclined, do it!

My stats were fairly similar to yours and I got into COM early decision. Keep your grades up (it’s worth it), and knock the essa out of the park and you should be good.

Thanks guys! And @skidreamer congrats on being accepted! I will be applying to CAS for biology
