other things:
My essays and personal statement are absolutely kickin, i wrote about how much I love VT and how ut prosim applies to my life and all that
My brother goes to VT so I am a legacy
I have always shown interest by doing an info session and tour, emailing back and forth with admissions representatives and calling the admissions office
Upward trend in GPA every year

50/50… Your GPA is in the lower 25% of the 2014-2015 admitted freshman class, SAT in the mid to upper 50%, and you are coming from a very competitive area. VT is very statistic driven so the extra curric’s, essay and legacy are nice but not normally a deciding factor (they may bump someone if on the line after reviewing the stats).
