Hi I’m a junior from Oregon. I’m interested in computer science and Cornell is my #1 choice as of now, probably going to try for early admit.
I’m half asian half white, and I’m a guy. My family makes about 100k a year.
Unweighted GPA: 3.8
APs taken so far:
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP Computer Science
AP World History
Probably taking AP Physics C (both tests), AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Stats next year. Maybe AP Spanish 4, but I’m not sure since I’ve taken a year off from spanish.
I know for certain I’m in the top 10% of my class, my older brother had a similar gpa and he was in the top 15/450 (I dont remember which rank specifically), his grade had higher achievers.
SAT: Scored 700+ on reading and math, 500 on writing because I bombed the improving sentences section, retaking next week since I know I can improve my score drastically. Probably a 2100+ if I don’t screw things up this time around.
Freshman-Sophomore year I wasn’t really thinking about college, as such my extracurricular are a bit lacking. I’m pretty worried about not getting accepted due to my weak ecs.
My ecs will be senior year:
3 years at the environmental awareness club, probably leader next year.
2 years track, jv.
internship at microsoft.
~100 hours of community service.
Regional/State ranked trivia team, 2 years.
