Recommendtion:
For CMU, from USH teacher, and Eng teacher
+ SPecial researcher at IBM HQ (most of CPUs of IBM servers were developed by him)

wel......
I'm considering to apply CMU SCS nxt year.
I am beware of that my SAT score is lower than the others
Considering that I came to states about three years ago, and non-native English speaker, I am going to appeal to them with TOEFL.

Well... could you possibly recommend any things.... ?
My head is about to blow up :( thinking of college even at Prom ... :<

THANK YOU :)

The fact that you are an international student will be taken into account when they see your low Critical Reading and Writing SAT scores. Nevertheless, I am afraid CMU remains a reach for you at this point. Besides, as an international student, you won’t be eligible for financial aid.

CR and WR, what you mean they take an account for international student ?
For financial aid, my dad’s income is 350k+ in US dollar.
Anyhow, I neither am eglible nor need financial aid.

What I mean is that international students who are not native speakers of English are known to perform worse in the reading and writing sections of the SAT than native Anglophones. Adcoms know that and, accordingly, will give less weight for example to your SAT CR score and look at your TOEFL score instead. As long as you do extremely well in the TOEFL, you should be fine.

now, I get it  For WR in SAT, I got 4 wrong total on multiple, and got 8 for essay. I only wrote a page and two lines lol… So I will expect to get over 750 for next time…
For TOEFL, I have 112 in IBT, and took a year ago. Is that okay to apply or should I take it again?
BTW… got 23 on speaking…
