I am very interested in studying finance/actuary in college and I just wanted to see what you guys thought

I think overall I have good academics and test scores, but my extracurriculars are pretty generic/lackluster.
Does Wharton really look for people with Finance-related ECs? I looked everywhere in my region for finance
internships and whatnot but I wasn't able to find any.

ALSO, question regarding my standardized tests: should I submit both my 2340 SAT and 36 ACT. Obviously the 36 ACT is a
little better, but I'm not sure if throwing in my SAT and SAT II scores would help or hurt.

Wow your scores are as good as it gets for sure. Although I know people say all Ivies are a reach, I think you should be at least a little optimistic considering such scores + Extra curriculers + ED

I guess you can just submit your ACT, it’s full marks!

And yes I agree that you have to add on Finance related ECs because that’s where a lot of my friends lost their chances to get into Wharton. People have similar scores, it’s the essays and ECs that make differences.

You may consider UMich for actuary (definitely in though), Wharton, Cornell, Harvard even. Columbia’s not too right for you coz your intended subjects aren’t good in particular, neither does CMU.

Penn is the only Ivy League university with an undergraduate Business/Finance major, so Wharton is an obvious choice for you. Those scores will get any admissions officer to pay attention.

Good scores. Good grades and rigor. You will get noticed. However you are underwhelming in extracurriculars. You look like a lot of other Asians who will apply. Do you have any unique hobbies or interests that can help set you apart?

Yeah, the biggest worry I have is that I don’t stand out much from the typical Asian male who has great
test scores and boring ECs. I really wish I had found some way to get some finance ECs in, but honestly I spent soooo much time on crew, and I ended up losing out of the lightweight varsity boat that went to nationals by one seat… I was so frustrated.
