Can someone give me an honest idea at my chances of being accepted for ED at UVA?

-1370 old SAT's in January - I took them in March and I think I did much better
-3.8 GPA
-class rank around top 15% at a highly competitive highschool in VA (about 10 kids are going to UVA this year)
-varisty letters in football and track
-3 AP's this year and 7 next year
-very involved in band, all districts, first chair, blah blah blah
-Eagle scout and senior patrol leader
-250 volunteer hours
-A bunch of other EC's

The only thing that worries me is that I don't have a solid "hook" and I have a lagging GPA, but I think I can pull that up to around 4.0 by the end of this year

any suggestions would be apprectiated

highly competetive??/ my ass. only 10 people isnt competetive. my school has 35 people going to uva. but ur chances are really good.

I think your stats are pretty solid for ED at UVa if you are not living in Nova. However, deferrals and waitlists can be unpredictable. Do put a lot of thought into your essays, write some early drafts, let them simmer, and get some feedback and do some rewrites...also make sure you convey to your references your passion for UVa, what you want to study there and specific reasons you would contribute to the school. best wishes...

play nice! maybe your school is 3 or 4 times as big....

well we graduated about 280 in the class. It's a public highschool but it is still pretty competitive. But back to the chances... should I spend my one binding ED application on UVa or shoot for less of a reach?

your fine man.... if thats gpa is uw, then u should be really ok. uva doesnt care much about Sat's. trust me. i know unless ur in engineering, they care only about ur math.

You have a decent shot. Like crichessill that GPA is pretty solid if its uw. However, your class rank has the potential to hold you back. If you look at the article that globalist posted it says that most students who were accepted this past year were in the top 5% of their class. If there is anything that you can do to get your rank up, do it!
