^^^^Counselor did say in her rec, that at surrounding schools I would have a higher class rank.....However, As far as I am aware, Emory does not look at class rank.....</p>

<p>my GPA scale is different, but if i’m interpreting your scores right, your GPA is about average for Emory. your sats are slightly above average, but no sat IIs?
the only bad part of your application is the top 20% ranking; however, if the counselor addressed it, it could be a moot issue
im not entirely sure how your recs, essays, interest will influence the decision one way or another, but if they are all pretty good, you have a decent shot. if not, you’re edge. your ECs look good tho especially with the years of karate</p>

<p>If you are worried about demonstrating interest you could send them a short (one-page) letter reiterating your interest and citing some specific reasons as to why you want to go there. Or if you have any information that has changed you could send an “update” and restate your interest. I would send it quickly though since they are reading applications now.</p>

<p>jw…how does Emory ignore class rank? just venting…don’t mind me…so, a 4.0 grade inflated kid in top 20% is > than a 3.7 kid in top 6%…?ridiculous…sounds like UMich…</p>
