Regarding Emory University, the vast majority of merit scholarships are awarded through the Emory Scholars Program. Your academic stats look good; however, given the competititveness with the Emory Scholars Program, it's uncertain as to whether or not you'd make the "finalist" cut, although you might have made "semifinalist" cut. At this late juncture, though, you may have missed the boat, as the deadline for nomination by your H.S., recommendations, and your application each for admission to Emory and to the Emory Scholars Program would be due on November 1, next Wednesday.

NorCalDad,
Thanks for the response. I was nominated by my school for the ESP and have applied already and sent in my scholar essay. I'm merely waiting for the results. I was just wondering about the ESP because a friend of mine had almost identical stats to mine and received a 2/3 tuition there last year. He felt very lucky to have done so and realized that he had beat out many many great students. I was just wondering if this was a fluke or if I should get my hopes up for attending Emory on scholarship. The other schools, I'm not as sure about...

gchris07,

I'm glad to hear that you've already applied to Emory and ESP... I think it's just a tough call, and waiting is no fun certainly. I do think you should make the "semifinalist" cut for ESP. You're right on the cusp of making finalist, in my opinion. Good luck!
