Chances for Engineering ED?

I really like Cornell and I've read this whole entire Cornell forum and would really like to go there. I would really appreciate any responses thanks!

SAT:
superscore: 2250 (800M, 690V, 760W)
SAT II: 720 Chem (should I retake in June?), Math II -- will take in June expecting at least 700+, 800 Chinese
GPA: 4.39 projected Weighted, 3.81 UW
Rank: top 10% probably, school doesn't rank
Gender: Female, but I'm Asian, would me being female still carry much weight?

AP info:
Chem: A-
Comp Sci: B
Econ: A
Chinese-self studying
I expect to get 4s or 5s, school doesn't allow us to take AP in 10th grade

Senior year:
BC Calc, Stat, Bio, US History

Extracurriculars:
Nothing special, the usual stats
-Sci team captain (we've won regional twice and go to states)
-Math team member
-NHS member
-Student Leadership Council member
-Some 200 hrs of volunteering probably
-Summer research on biochemistry summer before junior year
-Work part time at a science company but don't do anything related to science, it's the name (Physical Science Inc. :D)
-Intern at state house summer before sophomore year
-Was one of the 11 ppl in my school who made the AMC cutoff to AIME (but I doubt this counts much at all)
-Frosh softball

My school is a good public school and many people get accepted to Cornell every year.

Also I got a B in enriched geometry freshman year and am expecting another B in AP Computer Sci this year, so I'm a little worried b/c those are really related to engineering. How bad is that?

So what's the chances of me getting in Engineering ED? Thanks!

your chances looks really high. i'm also a female chinese who applied and got in to engineer. but i didn't do early, which was too big of commitment. all females seems to get in easily, regardless of race

are you really sure you want to go there that much? for me i did not like the distance, size, and financial aid. so i'm glad to not limit myself so early with ED

I like its location and the size doesn't matter much. Is financial aid bad? I haven't heard much about it but the general consensus seems to be that Cornell doesn't give generous aid and you have to be really poor to qualify?

I have no clue how good my stat is for RD and I'm just worried that although my test scores are high, I've really no extracurriculars that stand out and make the admin go 'we need this girl!' I'm more worried that they would just be like 'oh another Asian, defer/reject'.

I think you have a pretty good chance. You never know though.

You've got a great shot (70-85%-I know arbitrary but you're gonna get in) with female+ED. Also, dont worry about your grades too much as long as there are no C's. An 800 Math I and a 750+ Math II will eclipse your B's. If your taking physics try your hand at that SATII instead of chem. Furthermore, if you think you can up that SAT to like 2350, I would advise you to apply RD to Cornell and apply EA to MIT. (look at Snowy's advice- you really might not want to bind yourself considering your prospects)

hm I wouldn't be that 100% sure on the acceptance, cause I know one girl with 6 on AIME, about 2200 SAT1, 3.8 UW GPA with 7 IB courses, who didn't get into cornell CoE.. also another girl with exact same stats got into cornell CoE but not really other top schools. So I would hold my reservation about Snowyx's comment "all females seems to get in easily, regardless of race". But you definitely have a good chance, and to be safe maybe try a little more in improving your application. good luck

Thanks for the comments!
Mak5im-- that's some scary info, 6 on AIME and 7 IB. What would you characterize as 'improving your application'?

Also, now I'm considering simply applying RD to engineering, what does my chances look then?

I think you could improve it further by having a triple 800s for math phy chem SAT2s (since it's a bit late to show your math sciences aptitude by various contests), that should convince some Engineering adcoms. Also have majority As for gr12 year could also help. Then if you could, get a research internship? (not too sure about how easy though, I am from Canada). Then just keep up the awsome work getting in CoE shouldn't be any problem, GL.
