Pretty decent chance at most of those! Just make sure you list all your ECs! Nice GPA! Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=15268935

The only thing I see that could hurt you in the fact that you started most of your ECs later in your high school career. Your numbers are great though, you will be a strong applicant.

Yea, my EC’s are definitely the weakest part of my application. How much will they hurt me?

For the top schools a decent bit, you have to remember that most applications they see will have the same numbers. By joining most ECs junior you it comes across as if you are joining to impress colleges. That being said i don’t think it will in any way kill your chances at any of the schools. Make sure other parts like your essays and recommendations are great though.

Bump…

Even though you did join late, you still have a good amount, 2x varsity athlete, theatre, academic clubs etc. so that’s good.I haven’t noticed any solid engineering internships/volunteering/whatever that shows you’re passion for that. And correct me if I’m wrong, but U of C’s engineering program just launched last year, Meanwhile University of Illinois has the top 10 program.

You have a nice shot at most of these colleges. Just keep your grades up next year and you should get into some if not most of them

So I should drop U of Chicago for UIUC? I might have gotten those two confused, someone just recently recommended one of them for me. Also, I’ve been trying to find an internship over the summer.

You might be mixing them up, though UChciago is a great school…

Cornell- Low Reach
Drexel-Safety
MIT-Reach
Northwestern- Low Reach
Rice-Low Reach
Tulane-Low Match
UC Berkeley-High Match
UCLA-High Match
University of Chicago- Low Reach
University of Michigan-High Match
UT Austin-Low Match
Washington University in St. Louis- High Match

You have a pretty good chance at all of those schools. I feel like for the reaches it will all come down to your essays. Especially UChicago. They depend heavily on essays. Good Luck! You will end up somewhere excellent for sure!!

Chicago does NOT have an engineering program. Do not waste your time.

You have a pretty good chance at all of these! Good job! :)

GPA is decent, you have decent chances at most of these MIT Berkley and NW are a stretch, as for everyone though myself included. try to do some hands on science volunteer or intern at a science lab if possible, try doing some of you r own research or do a engineering project.

Duly noted. Anyone else?

Shameless bump…

You definitely want to consider UIUC. It has one of the best engineering programs, top 10, maybe top 5. You have a decent chance at all of them except for MIT.

I’m not sure if finances are a constraint for you, but the UCs oos are really expensive !

Georgia tech, uiuc, purdue and caltech are top for engineering too !

Bump…

Yeah you have a solid chance at all of these, with the possible exception of MIT. Your numbers are all fine, and even though you started EC’s late, you became officers for lots of them so it doesn’t look like you did nothing at the clubs. That should get you into most of your schools, but for MIT and to a lesser extant UChig, NW Berkley, try to do something that stands out a lot for engineering, because a lot of people will have the same grades. A summer internship is a good idea, and there are a few renowned summer programs whose applications are open right now.
